In one sentence
Christmasify turns your whole Mac into a snow globe: snow piles up on your windows, lights dance under the menu bar, and Santa gets stuck in the notch and kicks your trackpad.
Short description (about 100 words)
Christmasify is a Mac app that decorates your whole Mac for Christmas, not just the wallpaper. Snow falls in three layers and piles up on top of every window, then slides off when you move one. Glass bulbs twinkle under the menu bar and can dance to whatever music your Mac plays. Santa gets stuck in the MacBook's notch, and each kick ticks the trackpad's haptic motor. Tip the lid toward closed and the snow avalanches off your windows. Frost creeps in while you're away, and a reindeer, a gingerbread man and a little steam train turn up on their own. One day free, then $4.99 once.

What makes it different
- It uses the Mac's hardware. The lid angle sensor drives the avalanche (a gentle tap knocks off a dusting, a quick swing brings everything down). Santa's kicks and the avalanche thump play on the trackpad's haptic motor, even when you're not touching it.
- Snow that knows your windows. It piles up along the real top edges of your windows, slides off in clumps when you drag one, and falls when you close it.
- Lights that look like lights. Glass bulbs warm up and cool down like incandescent ones, glow onto the screen and sway. One is always a little broken. They can follow your music, any app, including AirPods.
- Characters with a mind of their own. Santa in the notch (a brick chimney on Macs without one), sleigh fly-bys with sleigh bells panned across the speakers, a reindeer that nibbles menu bar icons, a gingerbread man, and a 3D steam train.
- Frost and northern lights. Frost creeps in while you're away and you wipe it off with the cursor. After sunset, the northern lights glow behind your windows.
Compared with other Christmas apps for the Mac: Festivitas puts customizable lights on the menu bar and Dock (and runs on iPhone and iPad), and Snowy is a free App Store app with lights and snow. Christmasify goes further, with window-aware snow, music-reactive lights, characters and hardware effects that the App Store sandbox wouldn't allow.
